When we were kids we had baseball (bring glove), basketball (bring nothing), and football (buy mouth piece)

You played local, could make all stars and play regional.

Very, very poor kids could play a sport all year, make the all star team and they did.

I despise the travel concept, and if you have to do travel, regional groups (less than 40 miles) can play each other. Then the poor kids could play.

Oh well, Get off my lawn rant over.
